Role Title: Global Market Launcher

Job brief

Swvl is looking for a Market Launcher who is a well-rounded team player that can lead the Intercity Category’s entry into new markets. The Launcher will be at the forefront of Swvl’s expansion plans, owning everything from setting the right strategy to making it happen on ground through swift execution. A Launcher is similar to an entrepreneur; responsible for designing and executing the market launch strategy, setting up our operational framework, hiring the local team and setting the market up for success. The Market Launcher will be located in new markets as per expansion plan and to be moved upon launch requirements.


  • Driving the pre-launch market assessment
  • Engage with market regulators to ensure smooth on ground execution
  • Liaise with the product team to ensure all tech requirements are covered
  • Map the supply landscape and identify the optimal supply structure
  • Partner with local transportation suppliers to offer the desired supply capacities, levels, costs in a sustainable and cost-effective partnership
  • Identify key business demand pockets for initial launch as well as develop a 6-month plan as to how the network should mature
  • Recruit, hire and onboard a local team
  • Conduct focus groups with customers to capture customer behavior insights
  • Develop and execute the GTM strategy to create awareness and continually improve conversion
  • Set pricing and promotion strategy to maximize demand while conscious of unit economics
  • Testing and iterating on various operational models while strictly adhering to compliance and governance guardrails
  • Create the required visibility through dashboards to drive data-driven business decisions
  • Take full ownership over the market’s P&L during the initial launch period
  • Innovate on and improve existing launch playbooks to incorporate learnings
  • Manage the end to end customer and driver/captain experience to deliver the best in class experience in the region


  • 2+ years of work experience in relevant fields (operations management, consulting, banking or tech startups), previous market launching experience is preferred
  • Ability and willingness to travel constantly for extended periods and work flexibly with different time zones
  • An entrepreneurial spirit - willing to hustle on ground and build the business from the ground upwards
  • Analytical background - you can mold and understand data to drive action and results - SQL proficiency is a plus
