About the Role

Seeking an entrepreneurial, experienced leader to take charge of the operations of SWVL’s innovative transportation system in Malaysia. You will be responsible for assisting with the city’s supply growth and performance from scratch while ensuring smooth execution of the day-to-day operations of the city. As the Operations Lead of Swvl, you will be instrumental in developing and maintaining scalable operational processes that will become the growth levers for Malaysia’s business.

This is first and foremost a role for a strong problem-solver who has a knack for finding quick and effective solutions to multiple business problems, in line with Swvl’s vision of localization. Rapid growth while maintaining efficiency is the mantra of this role. This is where entrepreneurialism meets analytics head-on.

Swvl has become the transportation of choice for a host of corporate clients in our existing markets. With our suite of products, we provide enterprises, schools and private/public institutions with a powerful Transport as a Service (TaaS) solution that optimizes their fleet network and spends.

We are making a strong push to launch our TaaS platform in Malaysia and we are looking for a versatile, customer-obsessed and passionate go-getter who can jumpstart and manage our operations function and relationships.

What You’ll Do

  • Leading the supply operations- Including but not limited to Captain onboarding, training, support etc.
  • Managing the quality of the existing captain base by creating control standards
  • Managing daily operations and reporting the KPIs to the management
  • Assisting the senior management with payment processes on a periodic basis
  • Optimizing how we use our capacity through analytics
  • Managing driver sentiment through engagement and partnership initiatives

What You’ll Need

  • You enjoy challenges, are flexible, can work long/irregular hours (when needed), and you can deal with ambiguity / ever-changing demands on your time & productive capacity. You aspire to ascend into a leadership role in a fast-growing start-up.
  • You have a strong analytical mindset with a comprehensive understanding of data.
  • You have a strong execution bias and love to execute with speed. You like to get the job done quickly, manage timelines well, and have amazing project management skills.
  • You are a strong team leader with relevant experience in leading a team of 5 or more people.
  • 5+ years of experience in a similar capacity
  • You understand the importance of giving a great experience to both customers and captains
  • Proficiency in Bahasa Malaysia and English is required
  • SQL and advance Excel skills would be an advantage
